SP Icon Step 6:   Find the brachial pulse on your Standardized Patient as it crosses the antecubital fossa.
Step 7:  Add the radial artery.
SP Icon Step 8:  Find the radial pulse on your Standardized Patient.
Step 9:  Add the ulnar artery.
SP Icon Step 10:  Find the ulnar pulse on your Standardized Patient.

These arteries are branches of the brachial artery and are named for the bones that lie directy under them.
Step 11:  Add the deep palmar arch which connects the radial and ulnar arteries and supplies arterial blood flow to the hand. It also serves as a way for colateral blood flow to occur.
SP Icon Step 12:  Demonstrate that there is collateral flow by compressing the radial and ulnar arteries, allowing the hand to go pale and then releasing one of the arteries. The entire hand should turn pink. Try this with both arteries.
